Introduction to Intuitive Eating

Intro to Intuitive Eating (what it is and why you might be interested)

If you've ever googled anything about diets, meal plans, emotional eating, or pretty much anything about food, you've probably at least heard the phrase "intuitive eating". But what is it, what can it do for you, and should you join in all the fun? Stick around because today I am going to introduce you to the world of intuitive eating to finally help you make peace with food once and for all.

INTUITIVE EATING IS NOT A DIET

The first thing you should know about intuitive eating is that it is not a diet, a meal plan, a weight loss program, or anything like that. It's a way of eating developed by two nutrition experts and registered dieticians Evelyn Trible and Elyse Resch that allows you to "Make peace with food, free yourself from chronic dieting, and rediscover the pleasures of eating". If you want even more details and help, you can read their book "Intuitive eating".

Intuitive eating is a healthy approach to nutrition where you learn to listen to and trust your body's signals. Some clients who have experienced success with a regular intuitive eating practice describe it as a figurative release from dieting "prison" or feeling like food completely controls your life.

So, if you find yourself frustrated with any aspect of your relationship with food including past or present dieting, emotional eating, foods that are off limits, not feeling safe or in control around food, then intuitive eating is made specifically for you.

In this intuitive eating series, I will be breaking down each of the 10 intuitive eating principles discussed in the intuitive eating book. These will be a great way to get started on your journey - and if you've been around for a while or seen any of my other videos, you know I'm all about creating simple action steps for you to take away from each video.
